At this point in our history in the year 2012 I feel it is clear that our representatives in Congress need to have knowledge of business and some form of experience with business. Our country is very business oriented and Congress must satisfy the needs of those businesses so the country can operate and be successful.

One issue with a lack of business experience in Congress is their methods of imposing laws and making change. A person with business experience can understand how the laws and changes they are making will affect the ways that businesses in our country operate. They need to be mindful of the needs of the various businesses of our country. Businesses should be encouraged to do well and grow yet some of the uncertainty from Congressional laws and changes, some owners are discouraged for growth and new hiring’s. With a representative who understands business, they can impose laws and make change with respect to the needs of business owners. They can work to make laws that allow them to accomplish necessary tasks while still allowing freedom to businesses.

Another reason why I feel business experience is necessary in Congress is the fact that Congress is responsible for making laws and voting on things that involve our nations money and the debt we are in. We need people representing us in Congress who understand business and how we should be allocating the nations finances. Methods of taxing and lowering/raising prices can all be done better when keeping business experience in mind. A lot of laws passed deal with taxing people and businesses. Businesses should be provided with a decent amount of freedom to operate.

Members of Congress need to have business experience so they can understand the way businesses operate and how to satisfy their needs. Congress makes laws that affect everyone in the country but these same laws also apply to businesses, sometimes in negative ways. Congress has passed some laws that greatly affect the way that businesses are able to operate. These laws impose restrictions and requirements for hiring more employees, which hold back businesses from possibly reaching their potential.

I believe having business experience when running for Congress is definitely an important strength. The people who represent our country and are responsible for the nations finances need to have some background in the subject so they understand how certain laws and actions impact people and businesses.
